About Phillip
Phil’s love for hair started at just five years old when he discovered his sister’s Barbie—and a pair of scissors. By high school, he was styling friends for prom and even jumped in at a local salon’s grad night event to do hair. Though he spent years doing hair for friends and family, he initially pursued a corporate career before finally following his true passion: becoming a hairdresser.
In his first decade, Phil refined his craft in editorial and fashion work, earning features in Italian Vogue, Nous, and local Montana magazines. In 2020, he was invited to join Aveda’s global Color Squad, further cementing his expertise in color.
Today, Phil blends his love for hair and business as co-host of The Beautiful Hustle podcast, where he and his co-host, Jessica, explore salon business, culture, and leadership. As an Aveda educator, he traves the country, specializing in hair color and social media marketing. Passionate about mentorship and career growth, Phil believes the key to great hair starts with listening—then creating. Behind the chair, he’s known for his bright blondes and bold, vibrant colors.
